This customer has a merry-go-round that sees it’s fair share of abuse.  The ride began to smoke and smell of heavy electrical burn.  Investigation showed that the the loads on the merry-go-round that were being fed by a transformer and an AC to DC full bridge rectifier were overloaded.  Unfortunately, no safety mechanism was installed after the transformer so instead of a fuse blowing and protecting the electronics, the transformer, bridge rectifier and all the wiring in-between created quite a show.

Repair of this ride included replacing the damaged transformer, bridge rectifier and wiring.  In addition, a fuse was also installed to insure such a catastrophic failure does not occur in the future.
